Damn! I'm more excited for this than The Dark Knight, but that in the end, The Dark Knight is going to be better.

Common is redoing one of his old songs "The Light" with Just Blaze. It's smooth. I'm posting the original video and included both versions below the video. I can't decided which one is better? What do you think, old or new?

A Mary J. Blige song for the Meet The Browns movie. That's right, it's Mr. Rick Fox in the movie, the Toronto-born, ex-LA Lakers. Haha, I remember seeing him in OTH, too. He is actually a really good actor.

This must be so random, but I have been procrasinating from my school work...a lot. One of the major distractions I have been enjoying is Kylie Mingoue. After listening to the latest Kylie song "All I See", I've found her to be quite an enjoyable distraction from boring, boring school work. (I spent almost two hours yesterday watching all of her music videos, instead of studying. lol) Anyways, I stumble upon this performance by Kylie featuring Kermit the Frog. It's so cheesy, but good at the same time. And DAMN, Kermit is a smooth PLAYA, "Well, Kylie, I would do anything especially for you". New found RESPECT for Kermit!!! LOL. I posted the original song by Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan below. Enjoy.

Love it. This is such a John Legend type song/video and guess what, he has a cameo in it. Why? Because she is part of his new label, Homeschool Records. Though, the video's effect seems like a rip off "Good Life" and "Stereo".

Melissa S. from the Search For The Next Pussycat Doll has gone solo after not having any success on that show or Making The Band 3. Her first single is a pop/R&B ballad with piano and so on. I'm more interested in what happened to Melissa R. She was the hottest. She should also go solo, too.

Hahaha, so a few weeks ago, Matt Damon tried to get back to Jimmy Kimmel for constantly bumping him from being on the show. The result was Matt and Jimmy's girlfriend Sarah Silverman making the "I'm Effing Matt Damon" video. Jimmy aired his revenge against Matt and Sarah yesterday night. He also decided to get what seems like all of Hollywood involved. Watch below.

So there's a new dancing show on tv, but this one is interesting to me because it actually forces the dancers to be creative instead of just following someone else's choreography. The JabbaWockeeZ and Kaba Modern are probably the two best crews in the competition I think...

*Update: The video for this song was back out in September of 2007. The song only did alright when it first came out until recently. So I decided to bump it up. I also included the song at the beginning of the video "Music For Love", which is also one of my favourite from the album "Go!".
Here is another the-girl-i-like-is-with-another-man song by Mario. Like I mentioned in the Trey Songz's "Can't Help But Wait" post, this song has a very similar feel to "Let Me Love You". The song quality of the video is bad, I will change it once I find a better one.

MY gosh, what a dunk contest!!!!!!!! I think basically Dwight revived the whole dunk contest. All of his dunks were so creative and entertaining. Highlight was definitely the Superman dunk. Haha, he even have the whole red underwear thing going. The most stunning part was that he didn't really "dunk" the ball but THREW it into the basket. BAMMMM!! LOVE IT. Now, I'm just wonderig if DC Comics is going to sue Dwight Howard/NBA for using Superman without getting some sort of consent from them??? LOL.

It's spreading like wild fire. The news is out. Blogger has been deleting music blogs left, right, front and center to those who posted the leaked song, "Mariah Carey - Touch My Body", after complains from her label. This is creating a lot of resentment towards Blogger, Mariah Carey and the recording industry. However, I think they are just trying to do business. Too bad it's so harsh that they just delete people's blog for it. Some people do put in hardwork on their blogs and it's all gone by a simple delete button. I just think that it will always be hard to regulate an open commodity such as music. It's like trying to regulate air. It's an open commodity that everyone can access it. Someone can cover the song, record the song again, transfer it into digital codes and send them over the Internet with ease.
This will always be a losing battle for the recording industry. If anything, deleting music blogs will just get people more upset. Music blogs allow people to share music and expose others to new kind of music that they would never have heard of otherwise. To be honest, I would never have spent money on certain artists if I was not exposed to them through the Internet. I guess the big name stars (ie. Mariah Carey) does not need that promotions, so her label can unleash their fury on bloggers sharing her leaked songs.
This is a difficult balance that service providers such as Bloggers will have to face. These kind of issues are seen for all types of media online beyond just music. For that matter, the Writer's Strike was caused by this same issue. It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next 5-8 years in regards to regulating multimedia shared online. It will be interesting to see how this blog deletion madness will head torwards.
Good luck to all those who got deleted. I wish you all the best in your attempt to recover from this.
* This is madness!
* THIS IS BLOGGGGGGGGGERRRRR!

This is, by no means, a bashing post. I just simply do not understand the hype/amazement surrounding Amy Winehouse. She does have a good voice, no doubt about that. However, she does not bring the 'soul' to the soul music she is singing. She lacks the passion that brings out the funk in it. Also, as an artist struggling with addiction issues, I can see how it might seem that her music is more expressive. Maybe my reaction to her is because I have not seen a performance by her that I've enjoyed. I can see why her recorded album and music videos can help her in this way. Anyways, I just personally think that she does not deserve to win as many Grammys as she had tonight. I think it's just that the other songs in the fields weren't as strong in Grammy voters' perferences. This is only my own opinion.
Here is the satellite performance for the Grammy by Amy Winehouse (I thought this performance was weak, too):

Just watched "Dedication" with Mandy Moore and Billy Crudup the other day. I absolutely adore the film. It's very different and very raw. Yet, it manages to encompass all the motifs in your typical romantic comedy set in an atypical NYC. Better yet, the indie music behind the movie was well chosen. Here is one of the song that stuck with me by the electroclash duo Fischerspooner. I don't know much about them, but I like this song. I think it's based on a famous quote by Walt Disney. I think the sound track version is different. I'll try to find the rest of the OST for "Dedication" and post it.

So UK R&B star Taio Cruz really confuses me. The supposedly leak/release of his album "Departure" was not real. The actual album release is actually moved (again) to sometime in March 2008 with a whole bunch of new tracks. So my question is, how is he generating money for the work he has done on the other supposedly fake album release? Anyways, here is the third single for the album, "Come On Girl". Between the first and third singles, it's been three years and the album still has not been released. I'm really confused...
*Update: Even more confusing, this single was named something different ("Take You Away") on the fake album. Ugh.

A few posts back I shared "What You Thought You Needed" by Jack Johnson. Well, here is the leak for the album that it is in. I can't help but noticed that track 7 song name is "Same Girl". Could this be a cover of the Usher and R. Kelly song? LOL. Just kidding.

Stupid snowstorm ruined my weekend. At least there was this video to cheer me up. I didn't know Sarah Silverman was dating Jimmy Kimmel for a couple of years already.
That was pretty hilarious. It's funnier if you know about the ongoing prank that Jimmy Kimmel has where he goes at the end of the show, “Our apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time”.

Another hot slaw jam by another new R&B artist, Casley. This is his first single. I've heard a few other tracks from Casley and he's got potential to hit it off. However, there are just too many of these new young R&B artists. It's hard to digest all the music that they put out.
