Jay-Z - Ain't I

New Jay-Z produced by Timbaland. Yah, gotta take a listen. This is taken from DJ Clue's mixtape, so you have to put up with all his yelling. I usually don't like to share DJ tagged song, but the song is hot. I'm gonna let you check it out for yourself.

Joss Stone and John Legend Duets

Alright, last Joss Stone post for the night. Here are two duets done by Joss Stone and John Legend, "Tell Me Something Good (Live)" and "Family Affair". Check them both out.

Something Sally ft. Joss Stone - Tip Of My Tongue

Another Joss post. What a wonderfully astounding song! I'm in love with it right now. Is it me or does "Sally" from the Something Sally band looks awfully identical to Joss? Either way, both have beautiful voices.

Joss Stone - Busful of Love

So I've been posting quite a number of new, emerging artists recently. However, I must go back to one of my favourite sound, Joss Stone. I really don't what it is about her voice, but it is always so soothing to me when I need some music to relax to. The video for her next single "Baby, Baby, Baby" seems to be still a while before it will come out. However, here is an unofficial video of Joss cutting to an unreleased track "Busful of Love". Check it out!

Lil' Mama ft. Chris Brown & T-Pain - Shawty Get Loose

I'm still not convinced by the hype that goes with Lil' Mama. So far, I think she is alright. This single is helping a bit, but I still think that it could be better. CB has some pretty sick dance moves in this one. Potential big hit.

Bumped: The D.E.Y. - Give You The World

Okay, so I had this post back on Dec 15. However, after looking at the number of downloads of this song (only 45!) since then, I decided to bump this post up. C'mon 45! That's ridiculous. I expect yall to have better taste in music than that. If this is the first time you are seeing this, you should DEFINITELY check it out. Don't say I didn't tell you so.

The D.E.Y. - Give You The World [mp3]

P.S. I love Elan's voice.

Joe - We're Family

Haven't heard from Joe in ages, but I can't believe the first thing he is back with is for a movie soundtrack. Not only that, the song is kind of boring and unimpressive. Even the video is...zZZz. He ain't even trying.

Joe - We're Family [mp3]

Kylie Minogue - Wow

Wow, no really, WOW! Two new Kylie in the span of a day makes me a happy boy. :D

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love (US Version)

The big UK pop hit from new artist Leona Lewis has just released the US version for the video. Still an enjoyable song. Thought it bothers me that they always put too much make-up or photoshop her way too much. I understand that is just the way the business is, but she is too good of a singer to require THAT much packaging.

Glow In The Dark Tour Flyer

Kanye, Rihanna, N.E.R.D. AND Lupe?!?!?! PLEASE COME TO TORONTO. PLEASE. I don't care how sold-out or how expensive this is going to be. I'm there! As Kanye says on his blog, this would be the end of the world as we know it!!!!

Coconut Records - West Coast

So sticking to the "indie" theme today, here's a song from the unofficial Cloverfield soundtrack.Coconut Records is really actor Jason Schwartzman from such films as The Darjeeling Limited and Marie Antoinette. I've also put up another one of his songs that was on the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack in case you want more Coconut Records.

Leaked: Lenny Kravitz - It Is Time For A Love Revolution

Finally, it leaks. Almost a week before it is released, the Lenny Kravitz album is out. From the first listen, I wouldn't say the album is a "revolution", but maybe the title was just referring to a love revolution and not a music revolution. This is your typical Lenny Kravitz album, so take it for what it is (which is still good).

Hey Everyone,

I'm going to start using Sharebee instead of Mediafire for when I upload albums. It provides multiple links to the same download. Let me know if there are any issues with this.

Thanks.

Gnarls Barkley - Run

Hot off the leak is the dynamic duo of Gnarls Barkley. Following up to their hit "St. Elsewhere", they are looking to release "The Odd Couple" in April 2008. "Run" will be the first single from it. I'm excited for it.

A Fine Frenzy - Almost Lover

So I got an email asking about where all the hip-hop and rap contents are for the site and what the deal is with all these other stuff I'm posting. Well, I don't think I ever mentioned specifically that this blog was exclusive for hip-hop and rap contents. I basically just put stuff that I'm watching, reading about or listening to. This could range from a wide variety as I have a diverse taste (never will you hear country music on here though). If you are looking for specific genre of music, I've started to add tags to all my posts, so you can click on any of the tags to sort by the genre you are looking for.

On that note, I have another Indie post recommended by one of my good friend. The artist is called A Fine Frenzy and I really enjoy the peaceful sound of her music. Supposedly, she taught herself how to play the paino. Usually, only the musically gifted have the rare ability to do that. Her music has been featured on a lot tv shows like OTH, House, The Hills, etc. Anyways, maybe I will post her album when I get the chance tonight. Here is the lovely single "Almost Lover" from her "One Cell In The Sea" album.

A Fine Frenzy - Almost Lover [mp3]

Adele - Chasing Pavements

Class is so boring that I'm resorting to blogging during it. Anyways, I heard this late last night and didn't get a chance to post. Adele is supposed to be the new Amy Winehouse in the UK and a couple of sources have named her to be the big thing in 2008. I was never a big fan of Amy Winehouse, but Adele is different. Her sound is more genuine and robust. Check it out.

Latest Addition To L4T

So my last attempt to add a co-author completely failed, as he never posted anything yet ("thanks" slim_thug). So I decided to add someone else who has been a constant visitor to the L4T blog already: Chau. Watch for his awesome, super, duper posts.

I guess they won't be a one-hit wonder afterall.

Girl Talk - Night Ripper

I recently got confused when I saw the name Girl Talk in regards to Hip-Hop related work. In my head, I thought Girl Talk was referring to the girl group of the 80s. So I kept skipping on it. That is until yesterday when I actually found out that Girl Talk is actually referring to DJ Gregg Gillis, who does mashups and is a music producer. So I decided to download the last album called "Night Ripper" from him. Man, I was surprised. He brings a whole bunch of stuff together in such a coherent manner that you completely rethink the concept of mashups. If you want to see what is sampled for each song, check out the Wiki page. Normally, I'm not a fan of mashups, but this was so different. I think this might be a hit or miss for you. But, I can't wait till his 2008 release of "Feed the Animals" to see what else he can do.

Jack Johnson - What You Thought You Need

So I was on Yahoo! Music checking out new song premieres. I heard the exclusive live debut of Jack Johnson's "What You Thought You Need" for his upcoming album "Sleep Through The Static" and I said, "I need to get this song". I tried to find the song, but failed. I guess that's why it was exclusively on Yahoo! So I set out to rip it. Wow, it took me much longer than expected because of the new setup of Yahoo Music. After a good struggle to get it, I finally managed to rip the mp3 to share with you *exclusively* here at L4T. Please source me if you are taking the song for my effort of ripping it. Remember the song is for 24 hours sampling (you know the deal) and I ain't responsible for what you do with it after that.

Latest/third single from the "American Gangster" album is "Pray". The video is exclusively out on the Roc-A-Fella site. The video is a collection of live footages from the American Gangster Tour. I put both the link for the video and the link for the mp3 below. I will try to add the video here when I find it.

Re: The Mousetrap

After well over a week's struggle, using the DIY mousetrap I made, I finally gave in to using a professionally made one. The result is stunning. In less than a day's time, Oscar has finally been captured!!! I have included pictures of him below. Now, all I need to do is to find a place far enough to release him that will allow him to survive. My first idea was the park. However, outside will be too cold for his scrawny, little butt. My friend, who I borrowed the trap from, said that he released his mouse into the school around our area. It will be good for the mouse with all the kids leaving food for it. But then again, I don't want to start an disease outbreak with little kids in the school. Anyone got suggestions or ideas?

*So I have finally set Oscar free at the forest near the Faculty of Forestry at my university. There are buildings surrounding the forest and heat vent coming out of the side of the buildings. So if it's too cold out, he will figure out a way to survive by sneaking into the building. I made sure he was well-fed before he goes on this trip. I hope he survives.

Snoop Dogg ft. Ice Cube - Fuckin

Wow, so straight-forward. The title of the song tells you exactly what the song is about. This one isn't as hot as "Sexual Eruption", but it's still worth a post. The Ice Cube part is cool, but I wouldn't think of this as a single. Hopefully, it's not chosen as the second single for Snoop's "Ego Trippin".

What The Hell With Enforcing The Asian Stereotypes?

It's already bad enough that there are so many lame stereotypes about Asians, yet the power of things such as YouTube are giving the lame dorks even more reasons to enforce it. More specifically, I'm talking about a video parody called "Asian Boy - Yank Dat Cameltoe". Basically, the idea is two Asian dudes are tired of the Soulja Boy dance and decided to come up with their own. Their brilliance (note: sarcasm) allow them to come up with "yank dat cameltoe". WTF!!! Do they even understand what a cameltoe is??? It does not even make any sense for two guys to be doing that. I know I'm being a hypocrite for criticizing this specific video because I have probably posted dozens more pointless viral videos before. However, this is different because it was not funny. It was just taking an already overplayed song and adding already overwhelming stereotypes to it. Argh! Check out the AngryAsianMan blog for other articles about Asian stereotypes and how it makes people like me angry.

Ne-Yo - Protect You

Ne-Yo have been dropping random tracks front, left, right and center. I guess since he got dumped from the R. Kelly tour that he has time to work on some new stuff. Maybe he will have a re-release of his last album or he is preparing for his new album. So far, the songs ("Dream" and "Together") that have been floating on the internet are not bad. Here is another one called "Protect You".

2008 Movies List

I meant to do this earlier in the year, but just got time to now. I have been putting together a list of movies that are coming out that I would like to see. So far, the list looks pretty good packed with lots of action, sci-fi and fantasy type movies. I will update my rating of the movies as I go. Let's see how many of these movies I will have watched by the end of the year. Click on the movie poster to watch the trailer for that movie.

Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful of Sunshine Bonus Tracks

Didn't get a chance to add these bonus tracks to the album download, but here they are. Just add them to the folder of the album, they are formatted the same way. The only unique bonus track "Cheer Me Up" is just like the rest of the album, nothing spectacular.

Hip-Hop Violin

This is pretty cool with a violin creating hip-hop sounds.

Colin Munroe - I Want Those Flashing Lights (Kanye West Remix)

What an amazing take on the Kanye track, "Flashing Light". Further, the video was done wonderfully with some pretty cool effects. I noticed in the video that the garbage can on the street was awfully similar to the ones found in the city of Toronto. Ha, and this was confirmed at the end when they revealed Dundas Square outside of Eaton Center. This got me checking out the artist, Colin Munroe. I'll post his stuff if it's good. Anyways, definitely check this one out.

DJ Felli Fel ft. Akon, Diddy, Ludacris & Lil' Jon - Get Buck In Here

Haven't had a good club banger for a while, but this one will make up for it. I featured it on a L4T mix a long while back (speaking of which, I will try to get the latest ones up by the weekend). This features a whole bunch of names without overdoing it...okay, maybe just a little bit at the end, when Lil' Jon goes crunk.

Another milestone for L4T! Still I have not come up with a banner for this site. Hehe, I had made a few attempts at it but have not got something that I feel is good. I will see how it goes. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but for all the posts since Jan 1 2008, I have added tags to them. So if you click on any of those tags, it should sort all the posts accordingly. Enjoy!

Razah - Rain

Def Jam artist Razah is pretty unknown to me, but this song changes that. I started searching for some of his other stuff and it's pretty good. It's your typical pop/R&B flavour with reggae influences. I'll try to find some more stuff from him. Here is the first single "Rain" from his upcoming "A Breath of Fresh Air" due out in March.

The Mousetrap

So my roommate thought he saw a mouse in our apartment the other day and from what I saw, it was not a mouse. I just thought he was overracting to a spider or a bug. That was until last night at 3am. While I was surfing the Internet, I caught something moving in the corner of my eyes. And there it was, looking right back at me. It was just a gray, furry little rodent about the size of a ping-pong. In my attempt to quickly catch it, I cornered it into my closet space. Or so I thought.

The lighting-quick critter managed to escape the confinement that I have set up for it. Damnit, mouse 1 ac 0. After trying to catch it for an hour and a half, playing hide and seek while attempt to put a box over it, I decided to name it Oscar. Being a coordinated person, I've always thought I was fast. But Oscar was faster. It was able to make a 90 degree turn without having to slow down.

Finally, I cornered it into my bathroom, but Oscar was able to fit through the side crack on the wall next to my sink. Well, at least it has no other way out and Oscar will just have to travel in between the walls. This is not good enough though. I decided to build a mousetrap. Most of the trap instruction I found requires harming the victim. I don't want to hurt Oscar. After a bit more searching, I finally found a humane trap, which was brilliant! It took me 20min to build the thing and I even added a string with a paper clip tied to the towel paper roll, so that the trap can be easily reloaded.

After leaving the trap for the rest of the night, there has been no luck so far. I might try to use some other baits tonight and see if Oscar will fall for it. I'll add an update after I try that out tonight.

Cloverfield Opens Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Update: So I've finally manage to see it and I must say, it was pretty damn good. For the amount of hype it got, it really delivered. I don't think I have been this captivated by the movie that I forgot I was at theater and not actually being part of the action. It has some great characters, which was mostly what it was focused on, with just the right amount of special effects to give it the excitment and intensity needed. If you get motion sickness easily, you'll probably need to stay away. On the other hand, if you are used to playing FPS games, you will be accustomed to the style it is filmed in. Overall, I think it's worth the movie ticket to catch this flick on the big screen.

*Update: IT'S SOLD OUT!!!!! I'M AN IDIOT FOR NOT GETTING TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!! o well, i guess i will have to see it tom.
This better not be a bust because I'm super excited to see it!!!!!!!!!

*Reupped: Sat, Jan 19
Finally, the first album to share in 2008! The new, uptempo pop infused album from England's Natasha Bedingfield is "Pocketful of Sunshine", set to be released on Jan 22nd. You might've heard her on the opening of The Hills with her "Unwritten" from the last album. The latest hit from her is "Love Like This" featuring Sean Kingsotn. The album is definitely mainstream and will sound cheerful and good the first...maybe 10 times you listen to it. However, I can see it getting old really quickly. Still, it's worth a listen. I like the 2nd single "Pocketful of Sunshine" and hopefully, it'll have a remix version to it. Enjoy!

Colbie Calliat - Realize

One of my friend requested for this album on this blog and "Realize" was definitely one of the top songs from the album. I bet you this song is going to get played in the background of a CW's tv show during an emotional scene(my guess is on OTH).

Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson & Nicole Scherzinger - Scream

I was waiting for this one to premiere. This was one of the top songs from the amazing "Shock Value" album and will probably be the last single before "Shock Value II" in 2008. I read about the video being tied to a bank heist concept, so I was expecting a short film style video...except it was not. The video was still good, but I expected more and I really don't like the masks Keri and Nicole had on. They were kinda weird. I'm still excited for Keri Hilson's album. She is going to explode this year! I hope this video also helps Nicole as well because her singles have been flopping...

Christina Aguilera - Save Me From Myself

So Christina Aguilera gave birth to a baby boy named Max Liron Bratman yesterday. Congrats! In celebrating her baby joy, she posted a video on her site thanking her fans including a song form her album and personal clips from her wedding. The song "Save Me From Myself" is quite good. Nice, simple and melodic. I've always enjoyed Christina's ballads.

Alicia Keys - How To Save A Life (Cover)

Alicia Keys does a cover of The Fray's popular "How To Save A Life". It's a nicely done cover. She didn't change too much of the original song, which is good. This is a rip quality, best I could get. Enjoy!

Taio Cruz - Unreleased Tracks

I have two unreleased tracks from UK artist Taio Cruz. These weren't included on his album, but they are pretty good. They are DJ versions tho. I will see if I can find better versions.

This Might Get Me To Stop Watching OTH

Really...REALLY? HE is going to get a recurring role. You know when a show is going straight downhill when...

*Note: Okay, these two might save me from totally rejecting the show. Brooke and Jamie are a cute setup. Oh and Skillz is just hilarious.

Real Life Luke and Leia

This was on the news yesterday. A married couple in London discovered that they were long lost twins that were separated at birth and adopted by different parents. They were probably thinking, wow, I finally found someone that is just like me....a bit too much alike. OHHH man, that's awkward...Imagine if they DID it? Haha, when I first read the article, the first thing that came to my mind was Luke and Leia. Awkward...
*Note: Wasn't there also a movie with Heather Graham called Say It Isn't So that is something along this line?

Leaked: Al Green - Thought It Out

A leaked single from the soul legend Al Green's upcoming album "Blue Note" feautring The Roots' drummer ?uestlove. Smooooooth.

Mike Jones ft. Hurricane Chris - Drop And Gimmie 50

This one is only alright, too. The beat is good, but the rapping is not that good. Repeating the same phrase 10 times does not make for a good chorus...I guess it's Mike Jones and Hurricane Chris.

Soulja Boy ft. Arab - Yahhh

Not feeling this. One or two-hits wonder?

Juno OST

If you haven't seen the movie Juno, you are misisng out. With its popularity increasing, it can now be seen everywhere. However, I still haven't been able to find a download version of the movie (I want to see it again). Let me know if you have info about that. So instead, all I can do is share the OST from the movie. Supposedly, Ellen Page, the actress playing Juno, suggested most of the sounds on it. The OST is pretty popular on the charts, too. Enjoy!

Ne-Yo - Dream

Another Ne-Yo's unreleased track. I like "Together" better, but this is not too bad either. This song was made by user-generated lyrics by Yahoo! and McDonald's LyricsMaker promotion. Haha, I remember submitting a verse but obviously was not selected.

Oil Platform Sinks 800 Miles Off Of NY Coast

A German (or Dutch?) news report regarding an oil platform that sank 800 miles off of the coast of NY has found its way onto YouTube. However, this has not been reported by any other news station...hm...and it looks kinda like CG has a part to play with it. Could this be a Cloverfield hoax? :O

*Updates:
- The oil rink is owned by a company called Tagruato Corp.
- This is definitely Cloverfield. Slusho! is supposedly an subsidary of Targruato Corp. This is starting to look a lot like the Hanso Foundation with its Darhma Initiative in Lost.
- An organization called T.I.D.O. is set up to fight against Tagruato Corp's drilling practices. I'm utterly confused. Damn you, JJ Abrams.
- Supposedly, http://www.hugelion.com/ is related to it. I'm not sure about this one...However, the Tagruato Corp's Little League Team Mascot is a lion...also, in the trailer, there are roaring and claw marks...and in the hospital, there were those silhouettes that were holding the woman...
- I got a confirmation, it's not a lion. Boo.
- Okay, found the English version of the video:

- Also, notice the highlighted area of this screen cap. Tentacles? Claws? Dum Dum Dummmm.

- Cloverfield revealed in youtube clip. Spoiler alert!

Apologize

Hey Everyone,
Sorry, decided to take the last couple day off after the new year and haven't been on the computer much. However, I am back! So in order to show my sincere apology, I'm sharing the Lil Wayne and Bun B remix of "Apologize". LOL, ya lame, I know. Happy New Year again!
